Amarsaikhan BALJINNYAM worked previously as actor and producer on THIEF OF THE MIND (2011, a.k.a. MIND THIEF) and TRAPPED ABROAD (2014), both directed by Janchivdorj SENGEDORJS. THIEF OF THE MIND won the Grand Prix for Best Film in 2011 during the Mongolian 2012 Academy Awards with Amarsaikhan BALJINNYAM also winning the award for Best Lead Role – Actor, honored for his "valuable commitment in the development of the Mongolian film industry". The film also won Best Supporting Role, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay and Best Sound Editing. Amarsaikhan BALJINNYAM appeared in MARCO POLO (2014 – 2016), A Netflix original series by John FUSCO, about Marco Polo's early years in the court of Kublai Khan, as Ariq Böke (Khubilai Khan’s brother). More recently, he worked as screenwriter and actor on UNDER THE TURQUOISE SKY (2021) by KENTARO, a mix of realism, fantasy and comedy in a visually stirring feature debut about a Japanese man who goes on a journey of self-discovery in Mongolia.
HARVEST MOON is Amarsaikhan BALJINNYAM’s debut film.
